National moment of reflection

A National Moment of Reflection, to mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and reflect on her life and legacy, will take place at 8.00 pm on Sunday 18 September.

It will be marked by a one-minute silence.

To mark the state funeral of Her Majesty The Queen, the Belfast Ukraine assistance centre will be closed on Monday 19 September 2022.

School closures

All schools in Northern Ireland have been granted an Exceptional Closure Day on Monday 19 September 2022.

It is expected that schools should close for this Bank Holiday to mark Her Majesty The Queen ’s state funeral.

You should get information about individual schools directly from the school.

Further and Higher Education colleges

To mark the state funeral of Her Majesty The Queen, all further and higher education colleges in Northern Ireland will be closed on Monday 19 September 2022.
